   2.
Dry Immediately.
   3.
Rub with food grade mineral oil 2-3 times per month.

   5.
Do not use bleach.

Read what the Ironwood Gourmet and Jonathan's Wild Cherry Spoons have to say..........

Ironwood Gourmet (Manufacturer of Acacia Wood, Rubberwood, Bamboo Products): Wash Ironwood GourmetTM products in warm soapy water and thoroughly rinse with clean water.  Do not soak.  To dry, prop up off of the counter to allow all surfaces to air dry evenly.  Wood and Bamboo products should never be washed in the dishwasher.

After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with food grade mineral oil.  Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use.  Regular application of mineral oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.

We would also suggest using a clean or new sponge for your board to help prevent bacteria transmissions.  That's it.  If for some reason your board develops a smell, (garlic heads, you know who you are) or a stain, (for you strawberry heads) and you would like to rid your board of that smell or stain, you can slice a lemon in half and rub over the entire surface.  The lemon will bleach and scour the board.

Jonahthan's Wild Cherry Spoons (Manufacturer of wild cherry wood spoons):  Love your spoons and they'll love you back! With proper care, your new Jonathan's Wild Cherry Spoon will last a lifetime.  I recommend that you scrub them with a Scotchbrite pad using soap and water.  Occasionally oil them when you want them to look their best.  Natural coconut oil is my favorite.  I do not recommend using a dishwasher for any wood. The drying cycle dehydrates wood too rapidly which can cause it to crack, and cleaning agents may age the surface of the wood.  Other than that, people say my spoons survive their dishwashers just fine.  The color of my spoons will deepen with use.  With age their beauty goes beyond skin deep and they become the cherished utensils that we always reach for - embodying the internal beauty of usefulness.
